Hollywood Celebs and a Well-Known Religious Preacher React on Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight

MANILA, Philippines – The PINOY Pride Manny “PACMAN” Pacquiao may have lost the fight against the American boxer Floyd Mayweather, but the result of the fight seems different from the heart of the people who had watched the “Fight of the Century.”

Following the defeat of Manny Pacquiao, Hollywood celebrities voice their thoughts and support to Manny Pacquiao through social media. Check out their reactions below:

Meanwhile, Pacquiao’s countrymen gave their reactions regarding the loss of Pacquiao. See what they had to say:

Boxing analyst Ronnie Nathaniels exclaimed, “That 118-110 score for Floyd Mayweather is ridiculous.”

What a lopsided decision! Mayweather’s father as couch was even getting angry at Floyd for his performance then Floyd won? Floyd announced himself as winner immediately after. Tsk! So that’s it? – Jane Abao, Ph. D.

Surprisingly, the international televangelist Bro. Eli Soriano of the Members Church of God International (MCGI) had also shared his thoughts on the #MayPac fight. MCGI is now one of the fastest growing Christian churches today. Maybe Soriano is the only religious personality who had given comments regarding the loss of Manny Pacquiao. Read his tweets below:

Obviously, millions of people, especially the PACMAN fans who had seen the fight between him and Mayweather, were very disappointed on the judges’ decision. They believed Pacquiao won the battle as what Manny Pacquiao’s thought. But the decision has been made. Hear what Pacquiao has to say about it. See video below:

With that, the world is expecting for a rematch of their fight!

Bro. Eli Soriano supports President Duterte’s war against illegal drugs

MANILA, Philippines – The International televangelist Bro. Eli Soriano of the religious program Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path) blogged his support to President Rodrigo Duterte’s all-out war against illegal drugs in the country.

Bro. Eli Soriano (L) the host of the popular religious program, Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path) and the Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (R).

On September 4, Soriano published an article, “Judging the Killings: Not to Blame Duterte but Sum up the Truth” on his Controversy Extraordinary blog site addressing the issue regarding the alleged “extra-judicial killings” in the country.

Soriano urges the people, especially those so-called journalists, to be very careful in using the term “extra-judicial killings.” He also pointed out that the public must consider many points before blaming the President on allegedly “extra-judicial killings” in the country that they should use logic, justice, and equity instead.

Here are some of the logical points given by Soriano to ponder on before summing up all the killings and unfairly blaming them to President Duterte (Excerpts from his blog):

“There are many avenues that can be considered in order to arrive at the surest point of justice and equity. Surely the shortest line between two distances is between two exact points that run as straight as possible from one to the other.”

“A point to start with is, could it be that criminals who are being hunted now by the Duterte administration are killing one another in order to protect their own interest!?”

“Could it be that there are killings that happened mainly because the police enforcers are trying to defend the constitution, or the order of their commander-in-chief, and their own lives!?”

“Could it be that there are those who run amok because there is no future for their vices and illegal activities under the Duterte administration? And could it be that they just wanted to implicate others, even the innocent!?”

According to Soriano, if the answer to all of these questions is “yes”, he believes that it is illogical to count all the killings from May 10 up to this day and blame it to Duterte Administration. “How stupid can one be!!! How could you lump the numbers and attribute it to one and only one cause? Worse, you go forward and term them as “extra-judicial killings,” Soriano exclaimed.

Unlike other religious preachers who at all times condemn the Duterte Administration, Bro. Eli Soriano supports the administration on its fight against illegal drugs. “One way to help them is to show them and make them taste a blow from the arm of the law,” he vehemently said referring to the criminals.

Citing biblical passages, Soriano said that “punishment is a deterrent to crime.” And on the last paragraphs of his writing, he believes in pursuing justice to protect the innocent. Although criminals like animals have their rights, it should not be that those criminals are well protected like the innocent ones, nor should the life of the innocent be sacrificed just to protect the rights of the criminals.

Soriano ended his blog with these sensible thoughts backed up with biblical insights, “In the Bible, there are people who cannot be considered humans to enjoy human rights, let alone, convicted drug lords and pushers!”

II PETER 2:12

But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

Soriano obviously supports President Duterte since he took office in Malacañang last July because of his heartfelt sincerity and love for the country. Soriano even urged the public to offer prayers for the administration, especially for President Duterte. [Read: Ang Dating Daan group says “#DuterteNeedsOurPrayers”]

Kuya Daniel Razon to bring UNTV Cup Season 5 games to provinces to intensify its public services

MANILA, Philippines – The UNTV Cup innovator and Philippine’s Mr. Public Service, Kuya Daniel Razon revealed last Monday (08/29/2016) at Mall of Asia Arena his plan of bringing the games outside Metro Manila. It will help the participating government agencies to better reach and serve more people of their public services offered at the venue during games.

“We will intensify our public services with the help of these agencies. We have been disccusing that. Because these participating agencies are also expanding what they do in their respective agencies to bring closer to people. We will also help these agencies to give their services directly to people. And with God’s help we are also looking into bringing the games not only in Metro Manila but also in provinces because people also wait for these public servants to play there,” Razon said in an interview with UNTV News.

UNTV Cup is now on its fifth season, which officially opened last August 29 at MOA Arena in Pasay City. It was launched on 2013 by Kuya Daniel Razon to promote camaraderie among government agencies and as well as to help them give more assistance to public and to their chosen charity institutions through their prize winnings.

This season, thirteen teams are on its line-up to compete for over P9 million cash prize on its grand finals. Over sixteen charity institutions will benefit for this UNTV Cup Season 5.

Meanwhile, the AFP Cavaliers bagged the first game against the Senate Defenders by 85-71 score. The schedule of the next game will be on September 11, 2016.

Government anti-drug ads to be released today

“THE PRESIDENTIAL Communications Office (PCO) is set to release its anti-drug advertisements today, September 2, as part of the government’s intensified efforts to eliminate illegal drug trade and abuse in the country.

PCO Secretary Martin Andanar said that releasing the ads would increase the government’s reach in sending the strong message that the drug menace is continuously destroying lives, hence, must stop.

“The advertisements will target the Filipino families who might be dealing with problems caused by drug abuse. All hope is not lost; the time to end illegal drug-dependence is now,” Andanar said.

The advertisements, directed pro-bono by acclaimed director Brillante Ma. Mendoza, and endorsed by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board, will show two different scenarios: a point of view of a father who is a drug user, and an OFW mother who has a drug-user son back home.

The “Father” point of view shows him missing the important moments of her daughter’s life because of his addiction to illegal drugs. The ad ends with the father confined in the hospital due to the ill effects of his addiction, but already forgotten by his family.

The “Mother” point of view shows her doing her multiple jobs abroad while her son is requesting money. Little did she know that the money her son was asking was for him to buy illegal drugs. She continues to send his son some money while her son continues to be addicted and eventually gets involved in crimes.

The 30-second anti-drug advertisements will be aired on TV and on cinemas nationwide. The full-length videos, on the other hand, will be posted on the Presidential Communications social media pages.” Published by: PRESIDENTIAL COMMUNICATIONS (GOVERNMENT OF THE PHILIPPINES)·FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2016

Magis is determined to bounce back after its loss to PNP Responders last UNTV Cup Season 4 that left the team on the 6th rank.

Being the Season 1 and Season 3 champions, Magis is eager to regain the title and is now back in rigid training sessions.

“Well, it’s a new season, new struggle to win the championship. We’re a bit unlucky in UNTV Cup Season 4 so we will try to fight back and win the championship again,” said Court Administrator Midas Marquez in an interview with UNTV News.

“We were a bit complacent last season so now we are really practicing hard so team Judiciary could bounce back,” said Joey Yabut, Magis Team Captain.

Magis also revealed new additional players in its lineup.

Chester Tolomia, who played for Brgy. Ginebra and three other teams in professional basketball associations, is one of its reinforcement players. “There’s a little pressure since this is a champion team. We need to maintain the high level game of the Judiciary,” said Tolomia.

And METC Muntinlupa City Judge Jacob Montesa is also included in its lineup who came from the bureau itself.

“I was a participant in the Clash of Three, where judges played against undersecretaries, congressmen, and others. I’m happy because I was able to join. At least, my game will improve,” said Judge Montesa.

Meanwhile, former pro cagers Warren Ybanez, Ariel Capus and Don Camaso will still be defending the team Magis.
